]]> This video by Hedley for their single "Never Too Late" is pure cheesiness at it’s best.  It’s clearly a play on the video for Duran Duran’s 80s classic hit "Rio."  For fun, I’ve included both videos so you can compare. 

Duran Duran’s "Rio" is almost as cheesy.  It was the original and is pretty typical compared to the videos of its’ time so it gets more forgiveness :)

The song has got a faux-reggae feel and former Canadian Idol finalist, Jacob Hoggard, seems completely in his element.  This isn’t my favourite song of theirs but it’s fun.

Did you see Hedley on the Canadian Idol finale last night?  They performed their song “Old School” and, as usual, it was a great performance.  I’m still not completely sold on Jacob Hoggard’s facial hair and scruffy look but I still love him so much.  He will always be one of my favourite Idol contestants ever!

]]> Hedley at the Calgary Stampede (11)

Wow… okay, first of all, let me just say that I wish I had better pictures.  Right before Hedley took to the stage, it started lightning and then it just plain out started pouring.  I had neither an umbrella nor a protective thing for my camera so I had to find a windowed area inside a nearby building and I’m not even going to tell you how bad that was (people were grumpy – let’s leave it at that). 

Now for the good news!  Hedley didn’t seem bothered at all by the rain.  In fact, they played right through it like the award-winning band that they are!  Frontman, Jacob Hoggard, brought so much personality and energy that you almost forgot how cold you were!  I’ve loved him since his days on Canadian Idol (see my favorite performance here).  I was also lucky enough to see them live at the 2008 Juno Awards (see some pictures from the Juno Fan Fare!).
