Rufus Wainwright - "Going to a Town" Video
I don’t always like Rufus Wainwright, as a person, since his mouth tends to run but he is a phenomenal artist. This song “Going to a Town” (title track from his album) is so hauntingly beautiful that it really took me by surprise. The chords aren’t all that novel - in fact, they are pretty straight forward and standard but it’s the singing that really sets it apart. He doesn’t try too hard but the emotion is there and it’s just right. He shows that it doesn’t have to be “in your face” to get a point across.
