In the three years since Arcade fire released The Suburbs, the band has become a huge household name in the art-rock genre. The two-disc, 75-minute Reflektor set on Merge records is one of the most anticipated Canadian releases of the year. The album features styles of music from hardcore punk to industrial-funk to new wave to raggae. The album has been compared to everything from Rolling Stones’ 1972 double LP Exile on Main Street to U2’s Achtung Baby and Radiohead’s Kid A.
The collectible vinyl set will feature a Holographic Gatefold pressing. The Globe and Mail has called this album “a giant piece of art.” The album was co-produced by James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem). The album even features a guest spot by none other than David Bowie. The album has featured a huge media publicity effort.
