On August 13th, 97.7 HTZ FM Rocksearch 2016 champions Nathan McNevin and The Silence Factory will be playing live at The Foundry as part of their first ever Western Canadian tour.
The four-piece rock band’s debut LP Collection of Thoughts (written by McNevin) was released in February 2016 to critical acclaim, being described as “glorious from note one” and a “tilt-o-whirl of sound drenched in adrenaline” in Windsor Independent Magazine. The album is starting to get radio play on both commercial and college radio including CJAM, CBC Radio 1, 96.7 MIX FM and 89X in Windsor/Detroit, and 97.7 HTZ FM in Niagara.
In addition to Rocksearch (known for launching the careers of notable acts including Finger Eleven and The Trews) NMSF also won first place in the Windsor-Walkerville Fringe Festival Battle of the Bands on May 12, 2016 as well as placed in the regional Top 10 in this year’s CBC Searchlight competition.
NMSF’s sound is influenced by classic rock and infused with a modern style to create what they call “retro-modern rock”. Their original music covers a wide spectrum from singer-songwriter to in-your-face rock and roll with poetic lyrics, intricate guitar riffs and beautiful harmonies.
As a Toronto based journalist who has just about “seen it all”, Nathan and his band are easily one of the most rapidly evolving, entertaining, and gifted young bands I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. Don’t miss your chance to see them live in your hometown! 🙂Written by Destrukto. Original content here: Canadian Music News
