New Vancouver record label to host dual CD release Nov 29th!

With an artistic and professional aesthetic harkening back to record labels of the early 20th century, Vancouver BC based record label The Weingärtner Phonogram Company was founded in 2013 to faithfully record, produce, and release artistic new music, focusing on capturing a live feeling to the recordings that is difficult to find on many contemporary recordings.  While not particularly limited to specific genres, the labels main projects of late have been focusing on neo-classical and folk/americana music.  Having already released the debut album of composer Daniel Bellefeuille, The Weingärtner Phonogram Company is proud to now present the upcoming dual CD release for Curtis LeBlanc and The Past Impending.

Originally from Alberta, Curtis LeBlanc is a singer/songwriter currently working on his masters degree in creative writing at the University of British Columbia.  The Georgia Straight recently wrote the following: “Curtis LeBlanc lists Ryan Adams and Kathleen Edwards as major influences, and those greats certainly show on the singer- songwriter’s just-released full-length, Finally I’m Ready to Admit My Faults. Think world-weary but warm-hearted Americana made for driving country roads during the golden days of fall.”

The Past Impending are stellar Americana group from Seattle, WA.  With a driving old-country groove and hints of psychedelic over-tones featuring the sounds of a baritone guitar, cello, violin, mandolin/sitar, piano and drums, The Past Impending write and perform epic songs, taking you on a journey with every listen.

We are excited to host The Past Impending’s first Canadian show in Vancouver, along with our hometown artist Curtis LeBlanc performing a rare set with his full band November 29th at Merge (1305 Powell St, Vancouver).  The show starts at 9pm, with a $10 cover.  Our first run of CDs are quite limited so don’t miss your chance to grab one while seeing some great live music!  For those not in Vancouver, the albums are also available digitally via our Bandcamp page:
